Every year, on October 10th, we recognise World Mental Health Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about mental health issues and encouraging efforts to support mental wellness worldwide. Mental health is just as important as physical health, and understanding how the two are interconnected can help us adopt practices that enhance our overall well-being.
This year’s theme, Mental Health is a Universal Human Right, emphasises that everyone should have access to the care, support, and practices they need to maintain good mental health. But beyond professional help, there are everyday practices that can positively impact our mental well-being. One of the most powerful and often overlooked tools in mental health care is fitness - specifically, making fitness fun and accessible.

When we talk about fitness, it’s common to focus on physical benefits like losing weight, gaining muscle, or improving heart health. But fitness is also one of the most effective ways to take care of our minds. Exercise releases endorphins, the body’s natural mood elevators, helping to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression.
